Funding
It is the responsibility of all applicants to secure funding for their studies. There is limited funding for scholarships managed by the Department of Material Science and Metallurgy and MPhil participating Departments and applicants will be considered for these awards automatically if they enter the Postgraduate Funding Competition.
If you wish to be considered for funding, you must submit your full application (including references) by 23:59 GMT on the 2nd of December 2025. Some funders may have different deadlines. These can be found using the Funding Search. If you’re a US citizen applying for a Gates Cambridge scholarship, the deadline for applications is 17th of October 2025. Other funding opportunities offered by Colleges will have a variety of different deadlines which will be listed on their web pages.
